The great anthology of the French organ music of the Tempéraments label ranges from Jehan Titelouze (1563-1633) to Alexandre-Pierre-François Boëly (1785-1858). 20 soloists and ensembles interpret works by 30 composers. The eight CDs are conceived as concert programmes. Ten historical instruments are used, which do justice to the different time of origin of the works played. The publication coincides with the 300th anniversary of the organ in the abbey of Saint-Michel-en-Thiérache (Aisne), an instrument that has been documented several times in the label's history.
