This box set dedicated to the illustrious composer Giuseppe Sarti, born in Faenza but a citizen of Europe for his whole life, presents itself as a journey through his work for the keyboard: for the most part in solo version, then with the accompaniment of the violin in concertante function and finally as a basso continuo for the solo flute. The journey goes through the 50 richest years of change of the 18th century, from the gallant style to the roots of Romanticism. A significant feature is the exclusive use of historical instruments and their variety: eight different keyboard instruments, in addition to the violin and the crosspiece, make this edition a precious piece in the panorama of recordings dedicated to Classicism, the result of the meticulous care with which the performers have deepened the executive interpretation, after having done a great job of research in the libraries of all Europe.
