Jean-Francois Dandrieu was one of the most brilliant artistic figures of France's Regency period. in addition to his position as organist at the Chapelle royale, Dandrieu was a professor and a composer, producing, among other works, six Livres de Clavecin. Performed by organist Andr+- Isoir and harpsichordist Olivier Baumont, this anthology of works for keyboard ranges from offertories to no+½ls and from overtures to musettes, in addition to the inclusion of a large selection of expressive character pieces. These works exemplify the stylistic evolution that occurred between the baroque and the galant.
