The great life project of François Couperin was the unification of the two musical styles of Italy and France. He dedicated memorial music to the memory of the two great protagonists of Italian and French Baroque after their death. In his "Apothéose de Lully" Couperin foresees a reconciling heavenly encounter between Lully and Corelli. Corelli, for his part, was honoured by François Couperin with a great trio sonata. Philippe Pierlot and his Ricercar Consort are ideal interpreters of this music, with their sensitive interpretation in keeping with their style. They supplement this programme with another homage music dedicated by Couperin's colleague Jean-Féry Rebel to the memory of Lully.
