The Cello Suites are, for Marc Coppey, a genuine, timeless passion. Having won the first prize at the1988 Leipzig Bach competition, Coppey kept his passion alive and allowed it to mature. The repeated experience of performing the complete Suites in concert, have had a fairly profound effect on Coppey’s playing, and concentrated his relationship with the work, imbuing his recording with the wealth and depth of a definitive performance.
