And also the expert jury jazz of the "Neustart Kultur" had to acknowledge the uniqueness of the trio around pianist Simon Lucaciu. The young trio presents itself uniquely innovative on its new CD: the perceived standstill after 3 years of crisis is overcome here.Simon Lucaciu (piano), Florian Müller (double bass), Lukas Heckers (drums) improvise here not only about forms, also the forms are improvised. The CD title "CTRL + X" adapts the key combination for cutting from computer language, with which something is put into a memory in order to be able to retrieve it from there and use it in other environments. This is perhaps the most important quality feature of this very thoughtful yet anything but cerebral music: it is aware of its means, can twist, turn andrearrange them. Then er-improvised contexts create their own forms, play with original material in an unconsumed way. This is a creative process that is not satisfied in juggling with set pieces and for which pure virtuosity is too little.
