David Del Tredici (* 1937) is generally regarded as the father of neo-romanticism in America, a country that has never feared contact with a distinctly eclectic postmodernism. His works, mainly song cycles, have been commissioned and performed by all the major American and European orchestras. Music & Arts introduces us to two of his cycles for voice and piano, both of which are clearly based on Robert Schumann.
