opis
An original comparison between the orchestral music of Classicism and that of our days, in a singular encounter between Italy and Argentina. The title Presagios takes its cue from the homonymous work of the contemporary Argentine composer Martin Palmeri, who has expressly dedicated it to the cellist Jorge Daniel Rossi, who is also the soloist of the present World I recording. In this composition the clear dialogue between soloist and orchestra, with ample and enthralling cantabile themes, alternates with rhythmic sections of tango, a dance which is the leitmotif of the entire work, greatly enhanced by the harmonic-timbre quality. As a classic counterpart we find the famous composer from Pavia who for thirty years, at the beginning of the 19th century, directed the orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan: Alessandro Rolla. In his concert for violin and orchestra, recorded here, moments of glittering virtuosity never disjoint from the tradition of Italian bel canto vocalism. The picture is completed by a still living composer, the Italian Claudio De Siena and Alberto Williams (1862-1952), father of Argentine music, a natural trait dunion between the two worlds.
