His transcriptions remain faithful to the original compositions and the historically informed performance reveals Korhonen's profound understanding of their style, proof of which can also be found in the booklet notes, where Timo Korhonen explains his theory about the meaning of the works. Timo Korhonen has a loyal fan base at major festivals and concert venues around the globe. His acclaimed recordings for Ondine include Leo Brouwer's Helsinki Concerto, dedicated to him by the composer, which won a Cannes Classical Award in 2003.
