Louis Moholo-Moholo, the South African drummer who had to live in exile in London during April, has an unmistakable drive and sound. Marilyn Crispell, the American jazz pianist with knowledge of New Music, has an immense playing technique and improvisational imagination. In the summer of 2007 Moholo and Crispell met for the first time. The recordings are stunning: playful and dreamy, drunk with rhythm and sound, with immense intensity. The American jazz critic Bill Shoemaker, who witnessed the concert, wrote: «Call it inspiration, magic, or whatever you want it to be. The music rises to a higher level, moves the senses, but completely defies description. This first meeting between Louis Moholo-Moholo and Marilyn Crispell was of this kind. "
