A recording with dialogues between the pianist Irène Schweizer and the saxophone player Co Streiff has been long overdue. Not only because they have been working together for years, not only because they are among the most important jazz voices from Europe, and not only because Ð still an exception Ð they are women. Rather quite simply because the music works. Both musicians create from fullness, thus one never has the impression that resources are scarce or even used up. The CD is one of the most inspiring CDs that I have had the pleasure of hearing recently. This is valid for the compositions as well as the interpretations.
