For his “Vocal Village Project” David Moss brought three more vocalists onto the stage for a concert in the Red Factory in Zurich, who could be described as “human samplers”: Catherine Jauniaux (Belgium), Koichi Makigami (Japan) and Phil Minton (England). Together with David Moss (USA / Berlin), four unmistakable vocal characters and razor-sharp improvisers act in the field of tension between vocal tradition and vocal madness. David Moss and Frank Schulte (Germany) use percussion and electronics, occasionally supported by Makigami Koichi am Trümpi (mouth harps), to build the group up into a “great orchestral” form everything live and without overdubs or manipulations.
