We are the children of the CD age - say the producers of the label Zig-Zag Territoires, which welcomes harmonia mundi as the youngest member of its German distribution family and which has just celebrated its 10th birthday. Sylvie Brély and Franck Jaffrès continue: "We discovered music as teenagers in the 70s on the 'black disc' and bought our first CDs as students in the 80s. We experienced the era of the discovery of baroque music from Nikolaus Harnoncourt to William Christie, we were fascinated by the emergence of IRCAM, the Ligeti and Schönberg cycles in Châtelet and by the colourful musical life of those years. The artists' message of freedom and perfection, their emotional power and the inner awareness they can awaken in us have encouraged us to venture into the adventure of our own CD production company. • This adventure is lucky for us and, we hope, also for our audience. Our beginnings have stood under favorable stars: Promoted by the Société Génerale from 2000 to 2006, distributed through harmonia mundi since 2000 and at the beginning a market in which curiosity and openness for young artists, new musical discoveries and daring labels dominated the scene. On this 10th anniversary we would like to encourage our audience to live his passion, curiosity and generosity. Life is short, we all carry the desire for authenticity within us and a longing to live our emotions! May our CDs help to keep this vigour alive in you!"
