The virtuoso guitar music by Fernando Sor (1778-1839) has long been known to many music lovers and has long been an integral part of the guitar repertoire. Moreover, in the early 19th century composers like Sor made the magic of Spanish folk music, perceived as extraordinary exoticism, really "socially acceptable". So it may come as a surprise that the Seguidillas for voice and guitar have only been available in a modern edition since 1972 and not on a guitar of the 19th century. The first of these were taken at the end of the nineteenth century.
