But Graupner's tones are likely to have struck his - presumably courtly - auditorium in the heart of faith, as he makes use of all the melodic, compositional and affective finesse of contemporary compositional science to achieve this "end purpose" (formulated in the expression of his time) of his music. Flawless vocal performances and an orchestra that savor all the color nuances of Graupner's well thought-out instrumentation make these three passion cantatas a feast for the ears.
