At Berklee College in Boston, his studies ended with a meeting with Pat Metheny and a concert in the first part of the latter for which he was chosen from over a thousand students in the guitar department! From groove influenced by hip-hop to elegant swing by Grant Green, complex metrics to the lyricism of a Kurt Rosenwinkel, from New York emergency to introspection of contemplative ballads, Romain Pilon develops a universe with intelligently assimilated references , with an endearing sensitivity and a deep poetry.
