For director David Alden and conductor Ivor Bolton realize Handel's confusion about love and power with lively, cheeky esprit.
The "Alden-Bolton" team is congenially supported by the perfectly adjusted ensemble of singers, above all Ann Murray, Leslay Garrett and Christopher Robson in the leading roles. The outstanding musical realization, together with a visually appealing production, make the exuberant statement of the Times all too understandable.
