In the 18th century "Clavier" could mean any instrument that had keys, i.e. harpsichord, clavichord, organ, etc. Bach probably did not even think of the piano or fortepiano when naming it, because it was more important to him to explain the advantages of the tempered tuning, which allows playing even in remote keys. Today a recording on a modern piano is nothing special in itself, but if a label like ALPHA decides for such a production, then you should be sensitive.
