François-Xavier Roth is the Music Director of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Liège Wallonie-Bruxelles and holds the positions of Associate Guest Conductor of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Associate Conductor of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and Invited Conductor of the Orquesta Sinfonica de Navarra. He also has special relationships with and regularly conducts the London Symphony Orchestra and the Ensemble Intercontemporain. "Playing Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique in the composer's hometown was a unique and unforgettable experience for all the Siècles' musicians including myself. Instruments from Berlioz' period were rediscovered and restored, right down to the famous bells of the "Dies Irae", which brought their spectacular character and resonance during the 2009 Berlioz Festival."
