François du Toit is considered one of the best pianists, chamber musicians and music educators in South Africa. During his studies, which he completed in Germany, he was awarded prizes at several international competitions. It was at this time that du Toit also began his collaboration with the Capetown Symphony Orchestra (CTSO), which he invited to tour China as a soloist. After this start, the relationship was strengthened by many other joint activities. In this recording, artistic sensitivity meets technical brilliance and shows why the classical music scene in South Africa has been able to survive to this day despite many political imponderables and financial problems.
