Distinguished in 2004 with the Grand Cross of the Infante D. At the invitation of Dimitri Shostakovich, he was a member of the first jury of the Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow in 1958. From then on he was always a member of the jury of the most prestigious international piano competitions and gave numerous piano master classes all over the world.
