Alfred Lefébure-Wely (1817-1869) is considered the leading French organist of the second third of the 19th century. With his organ works oriented towards bourgeois musical taste and his virtuosity, he is an important pioneer of the symphonic organ music of Franck and Widor. Through his friendship with the French organ builder Cavaillé-Coll he also had a lasting influence on the development of French organ building. Joris Verdin presents on the Cavaillé-Coll organ of Notre Dame de Bonsecours in Rouen, among other things, the world premiere recording of the Six Grandes Offertoires Op.35
