Divine Madness seeks, over the frontiers of time, space and culture, to explore a universal enclave in which music, just in Plato’s mania, enables the soul to raise itself and presents a glimpse of what comes after death. More succinctly, Divine Madness explores the principle that is common to the world of the English Renaissance and to that of Arabian Sufism. The result is a kaleidoscope of sounds and voices, enhanced by the noble murmuring of the strings. A world of overlapping metaphors that, as the programme continues, creates meanings that are constantly being renewed.
