Released by Astrée in 1975, this legendary recording with Ton Koopman on harpsichord was the first of many milestones in the baroque repertoire of Jordi Savall. Couperin wrote the two suites at the end of his life at the height of his compositional career, which is particularly evident in the fantastic and mysterious "Pompe funèbre" of the Second Suite.
