In addition to the highest orchestral culture and youthful élan, stylistic flexibility is also one of the hallmarks of the Basel Symphony Orchestra. His repertoire ranges from the works of the Viennese Classical period and the Romantic core repertoire to compositions of the most recent modern period. Numerous CD recordings document the work of the orchestra. Under chief conductor Dennis Russel Davies, the orchestra is constantly expanding its strengths and repertoire. Current projects of the successful team include a complete recording of each of the symphonies of Franz Schubert and Arthur Honegger.
