Even as a teenager, Andrés Isasi wrote the "String Quartet No. 0" in a simple, romantic style inspired by Grieg and Dvořák. This composition occupies a special position in the chronological designation of the work, since the composer felt that this work belonged to one of his earliest creative periods and that it was therefore not directly related to the chronological sequence of the work of his string quartets.
The clearly more symphonic "String Quartet No. 2" was premiered by the Isasi Quartet in 2010. Isasi reused parts of this composition in his instrumental works, including the third movement in "Suite No. 2". This recording is the first of three parts in which Isasi's complete string quartets are recorded.
