Une Larme is a tribute to the great Italian guitarist Francesco Corbetta (1615-1681) and to Robert De Visée, who is often regarded as his pupil The works that Italian lutenist and guitarist Rosario Conte plays on this CD are almost all taken from Corbetta's La Guitarre Royalle (Paris 1671), a book published by Corbetta in Paris at the court of Sun King Louis IX and dedicated to him in a later edition. Rosario Conte captures the special magic of this music perfectly through his highly virtuosic, never strained and yet dynamic playing and gives the compositions, which sounded for the first time more than 300 years ago, a very personal-emotional imprint, which is also immediately understandable for modern people.
