Chamber music plays an important role in the work of the English composer Cyril Scott. In his long career, which he has spent began at the age of 12, and which did not end until his death at the age of 91, more than 400 works were created.
The three violin sonatas reflect this long period in an impressive way. The Violin Sonata No. 1 belongs to was one of the most successful and convincing major works of his early creative period. The Sonata Melodica has a more relaxed character, but is no less fantastic. The pronounced inventiveness of his later years, scott proves this with his Violin Sonata No. 3.
