Arthur Schoonderwoerd, the Cristofori Ensemble and Nachtmusique play the two concerts in the same way as they were played at their world premiere, according to the preserved voice material: with one instrument per voice. The review of the autograph brought another surprise: In the 5th Piano Concerto the soloist also takes on basso continuo tasks! In their recording, the musicians put these confusing insights into practice. The result proves the musicians right: no lean sound, but a vital, purified Beethoven.
