opis
Handel will always be associated with his Messiah. But of course he wrote quite a number of other oratorios as well. “Israel in Egypt” – originally entitled “Exodus” - is one of them. It was written in just one month immediately after “Saul”. With three parts it has an unusual form. This is one of only two oratorios Handel based on texts from the Bible.
The versatile and still young Chamber Choir of Europe (founded in 1998) has quickly become of the leading chamber choirs. The singers are joined here by a cast of equally young vocal soloists. Together with the Orchester der Deutschen Händel-Solisten – yes, they specialize in Handel – they give a warm-blooded performance.
