The birth of our Lord Jesus ChristIn Rome, the pagan festival "Natale solis invicti" was celebrated on December 25. This date, which coincides with the winter solstice, established a link between the biblical symbolism of light and darkness and Christ, the absolute victor over the night of sin.
The pieces chosen for the recording emphasize the theme of light and the joyous arrival of the Son of God on earth for the redemption of mankind.
The famous "Puer natus est nobis" and the contemplative "Dominus dixit ad me", both unique masterpieces of Gregorian chant, were not to be missed.
