In interaction with the space-filling sound spectrum of the church organ and the acoustic instruments as well as electronic sound transformation, a complex field of reference is created in which the five musicians interact within the framework of the compositional guidelines. Polwechsel works at the interface of composition and improvisation.

Noise - Music - Acoustic Art - Sounding Environments. How much acoustic events can be bent, further thought, modified. In search of answers to such questions, Klaus Lang sends streams of air through the pipes of the church organ. Together with two string players and two percussionists from the ensemble Polwechsel, this opens up unheard-of sound mixtures in which the original instruments can hardly be localized. Instead, novel states between musique concrete and suggestive texture come into play. The collegiate church in Sankt Lambrecht, Austria, became the resonating space for all of these experimental arrangements. • (wismART)
