Antoine Dard was the first bassoonist of the Académie Royale de Musique in Paris and Grand hautbois de la Chambre etécuries du Roi in Versailles, and was one of the many musicians who belonged to the circle of the most important musical institutions of the French monarchy. These works are unique not only in his personal work but also in the literature of the 18th century in general and within the specific repertoire for bassoon.
