opis
The Cantore al Liuto is a musical figure that is uniquely Italian, in which very few interpreters had until now ventured into its fundamental rediscovery; the aim of this recording is to offer some examples of performances which are representative of how this particular type of musician so close to contemporary sensibility evolved from the Middle Ages to the period of his maximum splendour, the Renaissance, through the reinterpretation of famous melodies accompanied by different and appropriate string instruments, all according to the repertoires of the specific eras. Simone Sorini, internationally recognised as an esteemed interpreter of Early Music, is Cantore al Liuto - a musical protagonist from the past whose important figure, long forgotten by the musicology, is today brought back to life through his studies and his music. Tenor and multi-instrumentalist, over the years he has gained an in-depth knowledge of medieval and renaissance plectrum instruments such as lutes, chitarrini, oud, citole, cittern, cetra, that he plays in accompaniment to his singing. (Gianni La Marca, Baryton)
Mozart: Don Giovanni, Die Zauberflöte, Le Nozze di Figaro
