After Estonia and Latvia, now Lithuania: Martin Rost takes us along with him to a country with a history of organ building and church music that is at least as exciting as the political history of the Baltic States. The MDG recording team traveled to ten instruments excellently documented in the booklet accompanying the CD. The compositions characteristic of Lithuania selected for this recording range over 350 years in this country’s sacred music, which was always marked by the contrasting poles of the Catholic and Protestant religions.
