October 2011 marks the 100th anniversary of the Hamburg premiere of Mahler's Second Symphony.
OehmsClassics will deliver a concert recording of October 2010 from the Laeiszhalle with the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Simone Young.
The soloists Michaela Kaune and Dagmar Pecková are also outstanding. The NDR Choir and the State Choir Latvija are impressively available for the large choral scenes. All in all a valuable contribution to the Mahler Year 2011 (OehmsClassics)
