On his second recording for Label Bleu, pianist Eric Legnini has augmented his trio with the addition of tenor saxophonist Julien Lourau on two tracks and trumpeter Stephane Belmondo on three. Legnini's original compositions are very much in the funky soul jazz mould and he acknowledges his debt to the likes of Ray Bryant and Les McCann with the inclusion of a composition by each. At the same time, he demonstrates the breadth of his talent, performing lyrical versions of two ballads, "Smoke Gets In Your eyes" and "Where Is The Love".
