Yet this composer, just like Franck, left behind a versatile oeuvre that really deserves more attention. Thanks to the French Endecker label Timpani and his musicians around Francois Kerdoncuff, we can now get to know his entire chamber music on two CDs, which, in addition to sonatas for violin and for cello, also includes a weighty piano quintet.
