Constantin Silvestri (1913-1969) was a Romanian conductor, pianist and composer who was already playing the piano in public at the age of 10. At the age of 16, he won the George Enescu Prize, presented to him by the composer himself. Enescu, who very much admired Silvestri, is believed to have said: “We want Silvestri to be able to do everything we expect of him – and that’s a lot”. • This CD contains the complete piano works by Silvestri – including first recordings and arrangements as well as two compositions by György Kurtág and George Enescu. • Luiza Borac has established herself as one of the most charismatic artists of her generation. Based in Germany, this Romanian pianist has won over 30 prizes and accolades. Luiza Borac regularly performs in Europe and the USA. Her pioneering project to record the piano works of George Enescu won the much-sought-after BBC Music Award in 2007.
