Nakład wyprzedany, ostatni egzemplarz In its second recording for harmonia mundi, the Ensemble Conspirare presents sacred works by American composers who deal with the theme of death and dying. In his Requiem, Herbert Howells only let the first movement of the text of the Catholic Liturgy be heard. The work, completed in 1936, obviously reflects the death of his nine-year-old son Michael in 1935. Until 1980, the composer withheld this Requiem from publication - for "personal reasons," as he states in the score.
