His lute songs and consort songs form the backbone of this new recital by Andreas Scholl. The countertenor has gathered some of his favorite musical partners around him to pay homage to this sublime vocal art from which he elegantly distills the fragile grace of the moment. The program is delightfully interspersed with instrumental pieces by Dowland's contemporaries.
