opis
"But there can hardly be a more unruly material for the bravura than the double bass. "Despite these words of the Viennese Pope of Critics Eduard Hanslick (1825-1904), the Hungarian-born and current solo double bassist of the Tonkünstler Orchestra of Lower Austria, Ernö Racz, makes his instrument shine and masters even the most virtuosic passages with ease. On his current album "Viaggion nel tempo" with Veronika Trisko, piano, there are original works such as Extrème by Lajos Montag, short movements by Serge Koussevitzky, "Signs, Games and Messages" for double bass solo by György Kurtag or double bass solos from symphonies by Joseph Haydn, but also arrangements such as the Sonata for violin and basso continuo in G minor by Henry Eccles, the Arioso from the cantata "Ich steh mit einem Fuß im Grabe" BWV 156 by J. S. Bach or the Nocturne No. 20 by Frederic Chopin. "Kicho" by Astor Piazzolla was written especially for his long-time friend and colleague Enrique "Kicho" Díaz, who was regarded as one of the most brilliant tango interpreters of his time.
