The daughter of a pope who married four times, Lucrezia Borgia is indisputably one of the most enigmatic and reviled figures of the Renaissance. Her daughter Eleanor, on the other hand, chose to live in a convent, where she devoted much of her time to music and left behind a collection of motets, probably penned by herself, which is the oldest polyphony for nuns.
