This dazzling new interpretation of Mozart's demanding trios by the Trio Stradivari convinced us to make an exception to the rule: to release some standard repertoire on cpo. A year after their success as the winners of Premio Vittorio Gui in Florence in 1991 (the first Italian duo ever to win this international prize for chamber ensembles), the violinist Federico Guglielmo and the pianist Jolanda Violante founded the Trio Stradivari, which quickly went on to win the hearts of its audiences with its interpretations of the classical and preromantic repertoire on historical instruments. Isaac Stern himself stated, »The trio is one of the best chamber ensembles that I have heard in a long time; […] musicians on the highest level. « Yehudi Menuhin had »a great need from the bottom of my heart to point to their great and deserved success. « A compelling rendering of the trios regarded as the absolute high points of classical chamber music from Mozart's years in Vienna!
