Well known as a philosopher and theologian, and with a love of universality like many intellectuals of the Middle Ages, Pierre Abélard wrote a great number of musical works: a collection of liturgical hymns for the use of the monastery of Héloïse - the Paraclete - as well as a series of six long narrative prose - planctus, lamentations written on Biblical subjects. These works are of a sacred character and testify to the activity of composer of the poet after his "misfortunes" because nothing has been preserved secular songs that he is supposed to have written and composed during the social part and love of his life. The Ligériana ensemble, led by Katia Caré, offers us a colorful interpretation.
