The practice of performing two organs alternatingly developed with the emergence of polychoral performance, evidenced by the existence of two organs constructed facing each-other in Italian churches as early as 1475. It is in this spirit of musical conversation that keyboardists Martina Schobersberger and Gustav Auzinger, both with several recordings under their belts, combine their talents in this new recording on Fra Bernardo. This performance practice is implemented in the present recording not as a duel, but rather as a peaceful musical "Dialoghi."
