Swedish and Norwegian traditional music from the world of popular and peasant society. The beguiling richness of ancient melodies in the form of wedding tunes, Swedish polska, and Norwegian springar and halling, played on the violin, on the hardingfele (a violin enhanced with sympathetic strings) and on the nyckelharpa (a bowed instrument with keys dating from the 14th century at least). Over the course of 28 tracks, the five musicians (three from Sweden, two from Norway) play mostly solo renditions, with some duo and trio.
