The Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Cuba, performing under its principal conductor Enrique Pérez Mesa, now for the first time on MDG surveys the incredible variety of the Cuban music tradition. Rhythm is omnipresent. It is not without reason that Alejandro García Caturla's Tres Danzas Cubanas open the program. The three dances - Danza del Tambor, Motivos de Danza, Danza Iucum' - introduce us to the complex rhythms of Cuban music with incomparable charm.
