With a further CD, Ingrid Jacoby, whose "clear articulation ... incomparable phrasing ... (and) expressiveness" (New York Times) make her one of the most poetic and admired pianists of her generation, continues her recordings of the piano concertos by Ludwig van Beethoven with his last work in this genre, which the composer Rudolph Archduke of Austria had dedicated.
Ingrid Jacoby can look back on a long tradition with deep musical roots: Beethoven dedicated his Third Piano Concerto to her direct ancestor, Prince Louis Ferdinand. The Prince was also a nephew of Frederick the Great, whose famous theme about Bach's "Musical Sacrifice" has a firm place in music history.
