A movement within the percussion avant-garde developed along the entire Pacific coast in the 1930s. Several composers and musicians used found objects and exotic instruments to create completely new music based on rhythmic cycles and searching for new forms. Today this development is used as the basis for contemporary percussion music i've seen it • The Los Angeles Percussion Quartet was founded in 2008 by four musicians who are passionate about regional musical heritage. This CD is a tribute to this heritage and also the world premiere recording of these compositions. And I'm the members had the great luck to be able to work together with all composers from the very beginning.
